The history of the Asafy association

Since our beginnings, we have always believed that a simple gesture of solidarity can transform lives. Discover how Asafy's story was born from a heartfelt impulse and a deep commitment to underprivileged children in Madagascar.

A meeting, a commitment, a mission

In 2013, Saotra and Nanja met and discovered they shared a passion: helping their community and making a lasting difference in the lives of underprivileged children. Coming from a modest background, they grew up watching their loved ones struggle to access education and essential resources.

Married for seven years and parents of two children, they live in the neighborhood where Saotra grew up. With his childhood memories, Saotra has maintained strong ties with friends whose families live in precarious conditions. Aware of the difficulties they are going through, he decides to help them by offering them opportunities for small jobs for a symbolic remuneration, thus allowing them to provide support to their loved ones.

This simple gesture of solidarity quickly took on unexpected proportions.

The beginnings of an educational project

What started as a one-off aid quickly turned into a real educational project. Faced with the realization that many children in the neighborhood had academic difficulties and lacked support in their learning, Saotra and Nanja spontaneously began to give them reading, grammar and French language lessons.

The results were immediate: the children came back every day with enthusiasm, and some even invited their friends. This enthusiasm was a trigger for the couple, who understood that their commitment could have a real impact on the future of these young people.
